Intro 1984 written by Orwell in 1948.
Orwell predicted what the society would look like 40 years after he wrote the novel. He forsaw / predicted the future. He envisioned a dark society where cameras are everywhere and the government controls everything.
We know the sentence “Big Brother is Watching You’ because it’s posted on a door at school.
Big Brother is a dangerous leader who controls people.
But to watch over someone is not necessarily a bad thing. A ‘brother’ is supposed to be helpful so this sentence is ironical and tells lies.
People don’t feel safe, they feel oppressed / manipulated.
They are not themselves anymore, they are not free.
It feels like a totalitarian regime. So in the future things will get worse.
Compared to 1984 today is even worse. There are cameras at school.

In 1984, Brave New World and a Handmaid’s Tale t the government controls everything.
In both 1984 and Brave New World the story takes place in England.
In 1984 and Handmaid’s Tale they are not happy whereas in Brave New World they use drugs to be happy.

In 1984 there’ll only be three countries in the world.
In a HT there will be a nuclear disaster.
In BNW we won’t have wars.
In BNW babies will be born in factories.
In all 3 stories the government will control people’s thoughts.

In BNW people won’t get sick from disease.

Of course women will be able to have babies but they will also be able to design theirown test tube babies.

No, I don’t think it’s possible. Yet if you look at the news today, the only countries mentioned are America / China / Europe.
I don’t think love will be a crime because you can’t stop / ban feelings.
Babies born in factories will possible but also horrible.
I think people will get sick because there will be viruses or epidemic like Ebola killing millions of people.
In Snowpiercer people are stuck on a non stopping train because of a natural disaster.
In Walking Dead there are ‘walkers’ who are man-eating zombies because of a virus so the survivors have to walk and escape to survive.
The other future problem could be aliens coming on Earth to destroy us.
