” I think she lost because she is a woman.”
“If gender prejudice is at stake ( en jeu), how come ( pkoi) some women didn’t vote for her ?”
“That’s wrong! I don’t support Trump or Hilary but I think she lost because she messed up (merder avec) with lost top secret emails. She lied (to lie : mentir) too many times, she is unpopular for sure (ça c’est sûr) not because she’s a woman.”
“Honestly the true reason why she was not elected because the US population is not ready to have a woman for president. Anyone else would( n’importe qui aurait gagner) have won against Trump who doesn’t even have any political agenda ( programme) / realistic policies (mesures) to enforce.” (mettre en oeuvre)
“I agree that there must be a deeper reason. It’s the sign of backwards mentality in the US, there’s a prejudice / some people assume that a woman would be less entitled / not fit for the job ?”
“I’m sorry to say that women are usually considered like that, for some people women should be in the kitchen / submissive.”
“I think it’s sad because in Germany a powerful woman is in charge of the country so it’s a shame!”
“Some voters didn’t vote for Hillary nor Trump because they were not satisfied?”
Neither / nor : ni / ni // either / or : ou ou
I totally disagree with (ne pas être d’accord avec …) T’s security agenda. First of all he wants to bring back (ramener) torture and consequently, I believe it’s against American principles ( human rights / universal principles / Geneva convention ( Habeas Corpus (présemption d’innocence)– you cannot imprison / torture someone as long as (tant que …) he isn’t proven guilty/until (jusqu’à) he is proven guilty (coupable).
But on the other hand his policies regarding employment (l’emploi) are worth considering (valoir la peine d’être pris en compte) / well-thought (bien pensé).
The worst thing (le pire) is that the media brainwash (laver le cerveau) American voters.
I’ve just learnt the news and I’m not surprised / saw this coming. (je l’ai vu venir) Neither of them (ni l’un ni l’autre ) had substantial agenda / both of them were not fit for the job.

It’s a protest vote ! It’s ‘protectionist’ vote > against globalization / create jobs for Americans?
Trump’s agenda ( programme) for the economy brings hope.
Us voters’ vote for Trump mirrors (reflate) in a way British votes to leave the European Union as a way to reinforce their national identity.
This vote is an echo of a worldwide rise (montée globale) in nationalism.
For example Trump wants to build a border wall between Mexico and the US.
No way! This is too much / goes too far / this is non-sense because some (legal) Latino immigrants support Trump. In general, Trump is not qualified for politics.
